DIVORCE, SEPARATION, & ANNULMENTS

wgfl

Whether you're attempting to begin (or respond to) the divorce process, the legal separation process, or an annulment proceeding, it is often an overwhelming process involving many documents to complete, residency requirements to meet, deadlines to meet, and a large amount of gray areas.

Generally speaking, it only takes one person to get a divorce, while it takes both spouses to agree to a legal separation. There are pros and cons with each option, and factors like religious beliefs and insurance purposes play a role in determining what the best route is for you and your family.

Contrary to popular belief, a legal separation is not mandatory prior to getting a divorce.

An annulment is an attempt to void a marriage, arguing that the marriage was not legally valid to begin with. There are several criteria that must be met prior to an annulment being granted.
